The Ace of Cups stands for the opening of the emotional field, availability of feeling and the capacity to receive a relational or inner experience.
A cup as tall as a small building: a six-sided foot, a gadrooned bowl, a crenellated tier, towers and a dome. It stands alone at the centre, closed by its lid.
Putting a word on what you feel points to what truly matters: an emotion received guides better than a tight calculation, and what overflows can nourish around you.
What overflows from you spills onto the other: you attribute intentions to them that they never had. Your sensation becomes a verdict, and the bond settles on something false.
Symbolism TdM. The ace opens the cups and stays alone: no scrollwork or foliage, it is the only card of the suit where the figure is enough in itself.
Give room to what rises without hiding it from yourself, and put it into words before it turns into resentment. Welcoming does not mean accepting everything.
