The Three of Pentacles brings forward work carried out with others, recognised craft and the building of a project where every contribution finds its place.
In the Three of Pentacles, a craftsman works under an arch while two figures examine a plan. The gaze moves between the tool in action and the hands that hold the drawing.
When the drawing and the gesture speak together, the vault holds: the one who cuts shows what he knows, the other says what he expects, and the wall rises with no redoing.
The work moves ahead with no fixed plan: the drawing passes from hand to hand, the craftsman cuts what he is given, and the stone set no longer matches the plan revised the day before.
RWS. Three of Pentacles. The checkerboard floor repeats the paving of the builders’ lodges: it places the site inside a church, not in a private workshop.
Say the part you carry on the site, then hear the other name his own before you take the work up again.
